Fall Feelz: The Great Pumpkin Farm

It wouldn’t be fall in Buffalo without the Great Pumpkin Farm! The fall festival is all about wholesome fun, apple cider, and everything the fall season has to offer. Starting in 1996 the farm began as a small harvest celebration while hosting the World Pumpkin Weigh Off. Their first year the first 1,000-pound pumpkin made it into the Guinness World Books of Records, as each year the Great Pumpkin Farm has grown its fall festival by including more events, and attractions. The farm is one of New York’s signature events for the fall season and is visited every year by thousands!

There are a wide variety of attractions suitable for all ages and are fun for the whole family. Starting with entertainment there are magic shows, live music, a juggler & stunt man, and of course the famous pumpkin cannon. They also offer amusement rides for adults & children, and a fall favorite- Tractor Dawn Hayrides where riders can take a tour of the farms 30 acres of woods and fall foliage.

Don’t forget to check out the food and refreshments available at the “Food Grove”, “Witches Brew Bar & Cafe” or the “Bakery & Candy Store” for fresh apple cider & apple pie. Food grove has all your classic festival food vendors such as pizza, Italian sausage, fried dough & so much more everyone will have plenty of food options to choose from. Stop by the “Witches Brew Bar & Café” for craft beer, Halloween specialty drinks, and domestic beer, great for the adults!

Lastly, is all their fun contest which are great for all ages. Starting with their photo contest, submit your photos taken here at the Great Pumpkin Farm for a chance to win cash prizes. If you’re a pie lover enter the children or adults pie eating contest for some laughs and a good friendly competition. Get the whole family involved with the pumpkin decoration contest, work as a team to decorate the best pumpkin in the patch.

Finally, is the display of “Zillions of Pumpkins” which visitors can pick out pumpkins to take home. They also have gourds, mums, and cornstalks available to purchase and can be used to decorate your home for the fall season. This is great for photo ops, or just to take a stroll and enjoy the fall season.

The season kicks off this weekend with their opening weekend full of fun events and runs through the end of October, on Halloween weekend. Admission is free on weekdays, and tickets need to be purchased for festival weekends. Your admission includes free attractions, entertainment, and coupons that can be redeemed for other attractions such as the corn maze, or apple cannons.
